The Wisconsin Women of Color Network, Inc. held its Annual Leadership Seminar and Election
of Board Members at the Madison Area Technical College (MATC)-Truax Campus on May 23,
2009. Keynote Speaker Dr. Deryl Davis Fulmer, Ph.D., is MATC's Associate Vice President for
Learner Success. Dr. Fulmer's presentation was titled: "Leadership Strategies: Surviving a
Tough Economy." Concurrent sessions covered topics such as employment and educational
opportunities, with presenters Malika Monger, Rose Jenkins, JoAnn Moore, and Gladis
Benavides.
Gale Johnson later led the discussion on women's health and well-being, followed by the
Women's Circle Dance led by Jan Saiz. The day's event was another productive, highly
