Khmer New Year 2008 in Wisconsin
a video report by Heidi M. Pascual
Cambodians in Wisconsin enjoyed their biggest annual event at the Buddhist Temple in Oregon, Wis. on April 19-20
with a community potluck, musical performances featuring local Khmer talents, games, lots of fun, and most of all, a
spiritual rite that honored their belief and love for their elders. Below is a brief video of the event on April 19. The washing
of the Buddha and the rite honoring the elders were done the next day at the temple grounds. Watch for our full coverage
in the June 2008 print issue of Asian Wisconzine.
