The Association of Indians in America (AIA)-Wisconsin celebrated the Indian American
community's outstanding graduates and students with certificates of recognition in a banquet
held at Zor Shrine in Madison on April 17, 2009. Current President Aruna Chakravarthi
presented the awards with special guest Dr. Suresh Chandra, founder of Combat Blindness
Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose goal is to eradicate blindness by conducting free
cataract surgeries in India and other third world countries. Meenakshi Ganesan of Kalaanjali
School of Dance performed two Bharatnatyam numbers.
