On April 4, 2009, the Madison Area Telugu Association celebrated Ugadi (New Year) at Verona Area
High School, with musical performances by children, youth and adults, as well as a comedy skit by Vijay
Dandamudi & Subhash Dhonthineni and a political skit by Vikram and Bhageerath. Hundreds of people
from the Indian community and guests enjoyed the whole show. Performers included the Dhamaka Girls,
the Damaka Boys, Anurag Sandireddy & Amoolya Reddy, Kalaanjali Dancers, Spandan School of Dance
artists, and Sunil Sunkara-led UW-Madison students' group that performed the finale. There was also a
community dinner afterwards for everyone to share and enjoy.
