On March 21, 2009, the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS)-Wisconsin Chapter honored Wisconsin's
Outstanding Young Professionals and Distinguished Community Service Awards, at Marriott Milwaukee West, in Waukesha, Wis.
The community service awardees were: Richard Clemins, for Philanthropy; Jeanette Lesada, for Journalism; and Thomas Sipin,
for Sports. The Wis. Outstanding young Professionals were: Paul Eric Clemente, Religion; Christine Lamerand, Social Work;
Elizabeth Reyes, Education; John D. Suson, Medicine; and Marvin Suson, Fine Arts.
After the singing of the Philippine and American National Anthems led by Gerardo Gaddi, FANHS Pres. Angelica
Camara-Varona delivered her welcome address. The guest speaker was David Gilbert Pederson, the youngest delegate to the
most recent Democratic National Convention in Denver. Princess Emraida Kiram emceed the event.
