Wisconsin Tibetan Association
Marching for peace in Tibet
A video report by Heidi M. Pascual
On March 15, 2008, Tibetans in Madison, Wisconsin held a candle light vigil and a
march starting from the UW-Madison Library Mall to the State Capitol steps facing State
St. The gathering was a peaceful protest against the recent deaths of more than a
hundred Tibetans in Lhasa, who participated in demonstrations against the Chinese
rule and "celebrated" the 49th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day (March
1959).
