| Madison Families with Children from China (MFCC) celebrates CHINESE NEW YEAR |

| On February 16, 2008, a huge group of American families with adopted children from China (MFCC) gathered to celebrate 2008 Chinese New Year at the Fitchburg Community Center. The halls were filled with children's shrieks, laughter, and lots of running and kidding around, but no one was concerned about the noise. Everybody was in a happy mood. It was a Kodak moment each time I watched a parent lovingly hugging his or her adopted child, or preparing the costumes for the kids' performance/s. A mother talked about her wonderful experience as a new parent and presented her adopted child to the big group with pride. There were musical performances by children of all ages, a special number by the UW-Asian PacificDance Study Group led by Joy Chen, a special tribute to Hui Cheng whose exceptional leadership in teaching Chinese Tai Qi and drum performances has contributed greatly to Madison's awareness of Chinese art and culture, and a Lion Dance finale by the Zhong Yi Kung Fu Association. |
