Shyam Koppikar (top left) is the new president of the Association of Indians in
America (AIA)-Wisconsin Chapter. He and the 2008 members of the Executive
Committee took their oath of office before past AIA Pres. Anuradha Palaparti
(below right). The new officers individually spoke to introduce themselves and
explained what they hope to bring to the AIA.
  At the onset, Palaparti gave a brief overview of AIA’s 2007 activities, followed by
the Treasurer’s Report. Koppikar then presented a plaque of recognition to
Palaparti for her outstanding leadership the past year.
  Koppikar outlined the 2008 goals of AIA under his leadership, as follows:
1) to increase membership by at least 20 percent (from 100 to 120);
2) to revitalize the AIA website;
3) to increase volunteer participation;
4) to consolidate AIA assets and properties; and
5) to provide a long-term vision - plan for an AIA Community Center in the future!
Good luck and congratulations to the new officers!
