Association of Indians in America (AIA) Madison Chapter honors its 2008
graduates and lifetime achievement awardees

    The Association of Indians in America (AIA)-Wisconsin Chapter honored its 2008 graduates and Lifetime
Achievement Awardees at Sheraton Hotel in Madison on March 30, 2008. The event opened with an Indian classical
dance performed by Aruna Rajagopalan, founder of Spandhan School of Dance and AIA president-elect (2009). The
guest speaker was Prof. Gordon Mitchell, chair of the Dept of Comparative Bioscience at the UW Veterinary Medicine
School.
    The 2008 graduates recognized were: Ashanee Singh-Verona High School; Himanshu Sharma-Memorial High
School; Sowmya Adibhatla-West High School; Mela Shah-West High School; Swarna Mogallapu-West High School;
Paresh Agarwal-MIT, Chemistry; Anusha Ramaswami-Natyarpana Dance School's youngest graduate at 11.
    The Lifetime Achievement Awardees this year were: Narendra Sharma, Sushil Bansal and Dr. Usha Nilsson. AIA
President Shyam Koppikar was elated at the good turnout that day.
