Celebrating Youth 2007
It took the Wisconsin Tibetan Association president/emcee some time to gather the young performers who were attired heavily with traditional costumes, headdresses, and jewelry. With only 20 minutes allotted time for the group's performance, it was amazing to watch five different dance numbers that obviously took many hours of practice. The stage backdrop was the flag of Tibet, constantly reminding the audience that they were viewing "ibetan youth in exile" who have found their new home in Wisconsin. The Tibetan performers  drew a big intergenerational crowd as they proudly displayed the beauty and significance of Tibetan folk dances that they could only perform outside of their ancestral homeland.
Tenzin Choedon (lef) stood out as the youth's choreographer/director and provided the bacground music and drumming that guided the young performers in their a capella song-and-dance numbers.
