On November 14, 2009, Wisconsin Tamil Sangam (WITS) once again paid
tribute to the Indian American community’s extraordinary talents, especially the
youth who showcased their musical skills onstage, and those who garnered
prizes in the Iyal and Kolam competitions. It was a great sight to watch parents
and children perform various numbers, such as song, dance, and musical
instrument playing. While most numbers highlighted classical and or traditional
Indian music, some were highly influenced by Bollywood movies and Western
dance movements.
Congratulations to the new WITS president, Vijaya Raja Raman, as well as
the WITS Board of Directors and volunteers, for making another successful
Muthamizh Vizha community gathering in the Madison area!
