celebrates Christmas

Marlon Patawaran, the owner of Kicks and Sticks Dojo opened his
studio on Sunday, December 11, to host a Christmas Party for the
Wisconsin chapter of FANHS. The day started with a worship service
conducted by Pastor Meyer and the guests started to trickle in as the
afternoon and soon the room was filled with the savory smells of the
incredible Filipino food I have come to love. In fact, every table that lined
the walls of the spacious studio was overflowing with delectable treats
from the kitchens of the attendees.
One of the lessons I learned very quickly at the old Asian Moon Festival

irection of P. Emraida Kiram, was the secret place to go and catch a break and some
home cooking.
A large TV screen in the corner broadcast Da Best Ang Pasko Ng Pilipino© a Christmas
celebration from the Philippine’s station ABS-CBN featuring many popular Filipino
entertainers as well as a large chorus. In the other corner, the karaoke machine was set
up and became the go to spot. I have to admit that I didn’t know what a gorgeous singing
voice Rei Lesada has. Wow!
After a number of years of hard work and countless hours of volunteering, Angelica
Varona Camara passed the Presidency of FANHS on to Marlon Patawaran. Marlon
thanked Angelica for her years of service and promised to continue the work moving
forward. Angelica was presented a plaque in appreciation of her hard work, along with
an award given to P. Emraida Kiram for her tireless work on behalf of all Filipinos in the
Midwest.
